URN.Yusta Kasapuli, a 27-year-old resident of Kyogera village in Kitutu parish of Karama sub-county is accused of hacking her husband, 27-year-old Paul Kingi to death.
A 27- year-old woman has been arrested on allegations of brutally murdering her husband in Kibaale.
The suspect is Yusta Kasapuli,27, a resident of Kyogera village in Kitutu parish in Karama sub-county. She is accused of hacking to death her husband, Paul Kingi 27, a resident of the same village.
It is alleged that the couple picked up a quarrel around 11 pm on Tuesday night for some unknown reason and in the process, Kasapuli allegedly picked up a machete and hacked Kingi severally on the head and neck and killed him. She then fled the scene to an unknown destination.
Police recovered a blood-stained machete that is believed to have been used in the brutal murder of the deceased.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson says the suspect was pursued and arrested from Kyegegwa district on Wednesday evening.
According to Hakiza, they liaised with their counterparts in Kyegegwa and arrested Kasapuli from Hapuyo village where she was hiding after committing the offense.
He says Kasapuli who is currently being transferred from Kyegegwa to Kibaale central police station will be arraigned before court to be charged with murder once police investigations are complete.
Sanyu Mugenyi, a brother to the deceased has applauded the police for the quick action and cooperation exhibited so far, saying they want justice to prevail.
