The Government of South Sudan through the Union of Journalists of South Sudan has said that there is no journalist being held over the recent state event in which a video circulating suggesting that President Salva Kir had let lose bladder into his pants.
” No South Sudanese journalist in jail at the moment,” the statement from government read adding.
On Friday news started circulating that all the journalist who had covered the state event were being picked with other posts suggesting that the particular journalist who had leaked the video had committed suicide.
“All Journalists that covered the state event where the South Sudan Government President Salva Kir wetted his pants are missing one by one and some found dead,” one of the accounts indicated.
But in the release, UJOSS says that as per their records, at the moment there is no Journalist that has been arrested and no Journalist is missing.
