On Sunday, hundreds of people thronged St. Phillips Cathedral in Ngora district to witness the consecration and enthronement of the second bishop of Kumi Diocese, Rt. Rev. Michael Okwii Esakhan.
His consecration brought to an end the struggle over the highest office of the diocese of Kumi. The House of Bishops elected Bishop Esakhan on February 9, 2022, after a long wait in Kumi Diocese that turned the faithful into warriors.
The Vice President, Jessica Alupo, Ministers from Teso, the Forum for Democratic Change-FDC and Alliance for National Transformation-ANT party presidents were some of the dignitaries who graced the occasion.
The Archbishop of the Province of the Church of Uganda, His Grace, Samuel Stephen Kazimba Mugalu presided over the event. URN attended and now brings some of the moments in pictures.
