six suspected thugs believed to have been terrorizing residents of Buliisa district are in police custody. The suspects, whose identities have been withheld by the police for fear of jeopardizing investigations were arrested within Biiso trading center in Biiso town council on Tuesday night.
They are believed to be behind the rampant cases of robbery, theft of motorcycles, and housebreak-ins among others. Upon their arrest, police recovered several items including suspected stolen solar panels, 8 mattresses, two bicycles, bags of beans, and housebreaking equipment such as hammers among other items.
John Muwaule, the Buliisa District Police Commander-DPC, says that the suspects are in custody at Biiso police station and will appear in court soon for theft, robbery, and possession of stolen properties among others. According to Muwaule, they will continue conducting operations until sanity is restored.
Peter Okecha, the LC 3 Chairperson of Biiso town council has asked police not to relax and intensify their operations to ensure that the wrong elements are eliminated from the community.
